AI-driven system + Expert system

In veterinary medicine, as in human healthcare, digital technologies increasingly support decision-making for pet health. Research identifies two key approaches in such systems:
— Expert systems: operate on clear diagnostic protocols and rule sets. Their strengths are transparency, explainability, and resilience even when data is incomplete (JAMA Network Open, 2023, PMC6697510).
— AI-driven systems: capable of analyzing large and diverse datasets, adapting over time, and delivering highly personalized recommendations, even in complex or atypical cases (PMC10969561, BMC Medical Education, 2023).
Each approach has its limitations: expert systems can lack flexibility, while AI can be difficult to explain and depends heavily on data quality.
Veeeet combines the best of both worlds.
Our app features:
— A symptom checker based on an expert system — delivering clear, explainable recommendations grounded in validated veterinary protocols.
— A personalized AI advisor — considering breed, age, activity level, chronic conditions, and even the pet’s geographic location.
Hybrid systems are increasingly recognized as the future of medical decision support (JAMA Network Open, 2023, PMC6697510). By merging the transparency and reliability of expert rules with the adaptability of AI, Veeeet empowers pet owners to make more accurate and confident health decisions.
Veeeet — because care should be personal.

The second AI module has been activated

Veeeet now uses OCR technology to make entering pet information as convenient as possible. You can take a photo to recognise text on prescriptions, diagnoses or pet food packaging. This data can be saved to your pet’s profile or analysed by AI with a single click.
The Veeeet app also provides AI-powered recommendations tailored to your pet’s specific health needs. This is achieved using a digital twin and the RAG technology prototype.
To ensure the recommendations are high quality, it is important to provide the AI with complete and accurate information about your pet. To this end, our veterinarians, drawing on over 20 years’ experience, have developed personalised, adaptive health questionnaires. This is our unique competitive advantage, which is difficult to replicate. Adaptive health questionnaire technology is now part of our utility model application, which has been a priority since 12 June this year.
Our strategic goal is to improve the quality of Veeeet’s recommendations. To achieve this, we plan to train our own LLM. Additionally, we will enhance the technology employed for transferring AI-targeted veterinary information and pet data (RAG). Furthermore, we will enhance the UI/UX to maximise the potential of OCR and establish Veeeet as the most user-friendly app for pet owners.
Six months ago, we were exploring the possibilities of AI somewhat sceptically. Now, AI is at the core of our technology.

Acceleration!

There is a news story that should have been posted earlier. But we didn’t have time to do it. And there is a reason for this lack of time.

Veeeet is currently going through the Acceleration Program. An incredibly interesting and useful course created by Peninsula Corporate Innovation and Escuela de organización industrial.

This is a very important opportunity for Veeeet.

AI Technology in Veeeet App

We’re thrilled to announce that Veeeet has integrated advanced AI into our Minimum Viable Product (MVP), creating the first AI-driven pet care solution on the market! 🚀
Our research shows that while pet care apps offer valuable tools, none leverage AI to deliver personalized, proactive health insights for pets. Veeeet is the pioneer, transforming how pet parents care for their furry companions.
Our Unique Value Proposition
Veeeet’s AI-powered assistant creates a digital twin of your pet, analyzing breed, age, weight, medical history, and behavior to provide tailored health recommendations. From early symptom detection to personalized nutrition plans, Veeeet empowers pet owners to prevent issues and extend their pets’ lives through proactive care. Our technology doesn’t replace veterinarians—it ensures you reach them in time.
Powered by Cutting-Edge Tech and Veterinary Expertise
Our MVP utilizes a prototype of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology, combining real-time data retrieval with AI-driven insights. The data powering our AI is curated by Veeeet’s co-founders—veterinarians with over 20 years of experience—ensuring unmatched accuracy and reliability. This unique blend of technology and expertise makes Veeeet’s solution difficult to replicate quickly.
Join Our Mission
As we prepare for a launch in Spain, we’re excited to bring personalized pet care to the world. Veeeet is open to investment opportunities to accelerate our growth and revolutionize pet care globally.

WebSummit

The WebSummit was an incredible event. Three days of active communication with the smartest and friendliest people who came to Lisbon from all over the world. The opportunity to speak at the most important tech conference in the world, to play in the big league of venture entrepreneurship. The Veeeet team gained unique experiences and new ideas, and significantly expanded its network of contacts. Thank you, Fred Joye, Ginette Oebel, Antón García, Claude Waddington, Jean-David ROMBI, Sergio Hinchado Leal, José María Torrego and many others who came to our booth and listened to my talk at the Startup Showcase.

Carbon footprint reduction

Carbon footprint reduction and a mobile app for animal health. The idea of finding a connection between them was a bit unexpected for me. And the answer was even more unexpected.
Veeeet is looking for hashtag#preseed investment. I interact with a lot of funds, accelerators and hashtag#angelinvestors on a daily basis. And it’s great that during the communication process, questions arise that allow us to look at our startup from an unexpected point of view. How does Veeeet contribute to a sustainable economy? How do we contribute to reducing the carbon footprint? Let’s try to find out.
One of the most important benefits of Veeeet is that our mobile app helps pets and their parents lead a healthy lifestyle. And if you stay healthy, you and your pet will need to visit the doctor less often. This logic was the basis for evaluating Veeeet’s contribution to reducing the carbon footprint.
There are only about one billion pets in the world. Adult pets visit the vet once a year on average, and babies and veterans visit the vet much more often. It can be roughly estimated that if Veeeet reaches global acceptance, the number of veterinary visits for pets will be reduced by 500 million per year.
What is a vet visit? Most likely, you will drive your pet to the vet. It is unlikely that the vet clinic is very close. Let’s say the road there and back is 5 kilometers. By averaging data from different sources, the greenhouse gas emissions per kilometer can be estimated at 120 grams.
So, a rough estimate of Veeeet’s potential contribution to a sustainable economy (did I mention enough that this is a very rough number?) is a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by (500,000,000 * 5 * 120) / 1,000,000 = 300,000 tons per year.
I did not expect the result to be that significant. It is a very, very impressive number. Now we have another important incentive to make Veeeet a success.

BioExpert Network

We are proud to announce that Veeeet has become one of the experts of the BioExpert Network (BEN) (Barcelona). For us, this is a recognition of the high level of competence of the founders, our desire to contribute to the development of the industry and the protection of the health of pets.

The BioExpert Network is a community of experts in multiple disciplines that help biotech start-ups and early-stage life-science companies develop their business by evaluating their R&D proposals.

Southern European Startup Awards

We’re super excited to announce that we’ve been nominated nominated in the category HEALTHTECH STARTUP OF THE YEAR in Spain for the Southern European Startup Awards Edition 11! We are in good company. 16 finalists of this competition have become unicorns. We are sure that Veeeet has what it takes to increase this number.
It’s been a little over a year since Enisa | Empresa Nacional de Innovación approved our startup. During this time, we have developed an MVP, expanded our network of contacts with professionals in the pet products and services market, and participated in WebSummit 2024.
And now we are representing Spain in such an important event as the Southern European Startup Awards. We are grateful for this recognition of the merits of the Veeeet team and we will do our best to continue developing!

Veeeet investment readiness

Attracting investment takes time. And time is a startup’s most important resource. You always want to improve the MVP a little bit more. So when to start raising money is a very important question. DropBox raised its first money without even having a working prototype, just for the idea. A good example of success or a good example of survivorship bias?
The problem is that in most cases, the opinion of the founders is going to be biased. We love our project too much to evaluate it objectively. That is why an independent outside opinion is important.
Veeeet tested several online tools to assess the investment readiness of a startup. Focused For Business turned out to be the most useful for us. Its advantages are attention to detail and online seminars where you can communicate online with other startups that are also attracting investment. I would like to thank Hatty Fawcett, the host of this seminar.
Veeeet’s final score on the investment readiness test is 75%. Quite a high number. And the Soft Launch, for which we are now actively preparing, will help to improve it.
